These are low pressure boilers - operating at a maximum of  1.5 bar (about 22 psi). The pull handles on this type of design compresses the 1.5 bar to 9 bar (about 130 psi). This higher pressure is delivered to the group head and used to express the "shot" (30ml) of coffee......
